Lakeland, State other library news see new business below

Patron comments and suggestions continued book suggestions, may make a form for teachers to suggest books that would be useful to their classes/interesting to thier students-have a box to put them in at school or give them to Suzanne? - propose making sure that even non-resident teachers can get a card here (free non-resident card) to encourage use of the library

Other Getting casino program funds, applying for grants, circulation up, Friends group planning for holiday tree/wreath decoration, advertising is up for events, working to make samples prior to events, am a presentor at the Michigan Library Association Annual Conference in Nov., idea for next year - free community veggie stand infront of the library (people with extra veggies, fruit, flowers, etc. leave it there free for whomever wants it - church on 142nd and 2nd does this and they said that they have great reactions and never have to clean it out) if you are for it then looking for a builder maybe eagle scout or boy scout project if anyone knows someone or anyone who would like to volunteer for a little building project, is there opposition to having a running list of board members on the website under the board link?

Old Business

New Business: Director's Evaluation form (posted on-line) due to Suzanne today for compilation, Lakeland Proposed Modifications to the Plan of Service - must vote to either accept or not the changes (new libraries don't have to buy into the software we use and libraries can pull out of using that software - millenium- and everyone elses costs would most likely go up, and a few minor changes - see Plan of Service highlighted portions)
