Hopkins District Library Board Meeting

 

September 26, 2017

 

Call to Order – Karon Dunifin at 7:00 pm.

 

Roll Call Present: Sandy Morris, Elyshia Schafer, Morgan Coon, Traci Rhoades, Karon Dunifin, Mimi Gabriel, Amy Germain, Barb Wrobleski

 

Absent: None

 

Approval of Agenda – Morgan made a motion, seconded by Amy. All board members agreed.

 

Public Comment – None

 

Old Business - Elyshia provided an update on the United Way Day of Caring to take place on Thursday, October 5th. There will be about seven employees from Rockwell Automotive in Wayland coming to paint the interior paneling of the library. Wayland Hardward is donating 10 gallons of white paint for the project, and Home Depot has provided some gift certificates to go towards the purchase of paint supplies. Volunteers are needed on the

Volunteers are needed on the Day of Caring, and also on Wednesday, October 4th after 4pm to help move things away from the walls.

 

New Business – The board reviewed and edited the strategic planning committee’s proposal to submit to Hopkins Township and the Village of Hopkins regarding the land where the two buildings utilized by these entities are located. Mimi made a motion to approve the board’s final proposal (see attached), with Morgan seconding it. All board members agreed. The proposal will be presented to the other groups at an upcoming committee meeting. 

 

Adjournment – Traci made a motion to adjourn at 8:15 p.m. and Amy seconded.

 

Next meeting will be Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.
